Chef Ann Ahmed approached Shea to design a restaurant and brand bringing food from the 14th Latitude, including Laos, Thailand, Cambodia, and other Asian countries, to Golden Valley, just outside of Minneapolis. The Shea team transformed a former Perkins into an open, sleek space to show off the bright, beautiful dishes of the region. An open kitchen puts the cooking on display, and an expansive dining room houses comfortable communal and banquette seating, while a private dining room shrouded by wood shutter-style doors adds extra seating. With a design grounded in warm neutral tones and materials, Lat 14 is packed with pops of color and details, such as a neon sign, decadent chandeliers, bright pillows, and tile-mosaic flooring, that make it a truly unique space.
