The Spot
A vibrant Mexican restaurant in Sioux Falls' Steel District
The Work
Integrate bold colors, patterns and textures to create a restaurant design that feels intentional yet unexpected at the ground level of a newly built corporate tower
The Scene
A long bar with more than 30 seats anchors Dahlia with a double-arched ceiling structure running parallel overhead. Lining the arched ceilings is a wallcovering in a custom-designed geometric pattern with a sketch-like texture, as well as three eye-catching chandeliers. Intricate brickwork in the back adds a warm character to the restaurant and creates nooks of cozy booth seating. Innovative finish pairings blend an industrial backdrop with luxe details. Plush furniture and drapery soften the design.
Notables:
- Double-arched overhead structure running the length of the bar
- Brick wall finishes adding an old, industrial character
- Wire-like tree sculpture holding lit tequila bottles on its branches
- Elevated liquor storage area doubles as a specialty tasting room
