Shea friend and client Gavin Kaysen made history last night when he took the stage to collect the prestigious James Beard Award (his second overall) for Best Chef: Midwest. The executive chef/owner at Bellecour in Wayzata and Minneapolis’ Spoon and Stable (both designed by Shea) moved back to his native Minnesota from New York to open his own restaurant in 2014, and has been met with unprecedented praise since.
