Centro expands with Shea-designed mecca on Eat Street

There’s something big coming to the former Wedge Table space. An expansion of Centro in Northeast Minneapolis, Centro Kitchen opens August 4, and merges three concepts–the classic taco-and-mezcal-centric Centro, sister bakery and cafe Vivir, and the new smashburger concept Everywhen Burger–into one space with communal seating. There are lots of fun design details to draw the eye, from the painted-concrete floors to the custom cross-stitch artwork, and Centro has no plans to slow down: They’re on deck for another Shea-designed space in St. Paul next year.
