THE ROLE:
As a Project Manager or Project Architect, you will be responsible for the day-to-day management of the internal design team, clients, consultants and contractors. You’ll collaborate with other experienced Designers, Architects, and leadership through all phases of design, approaching each project with a strategic mindset to help our clients reach their goals. You’ll have the opportunity to bring brands to life and develop innovative designs for our clients in the hospitality + restaurant, retail and workplace industries.
As part of the team, you’ll receive learning opportunities and mentorship as well as the chance to enjoy Shea’s culture from everyday office interactions to special events. This includes monthly Celebrate Shea gatherings to recognize our team and learn about exciting Shea happenings inside and outside of our office. In addition, we host monthly rep presentations and CEU’s where you can learn about new products, network and create lasting relationships. Travel may be required in this role.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Cultivate strong client relationships while managing deliverables within the project scope.
- Establish project timelines and allocate resources to internal team in collaboration with Design Directors and firm leaders.
- Facilitate communication of project progress and expectations to both internal and external teams, aligning all goals and deadlines.
- Manage project budgets and milestones, ensuring client expectations are satisfied.
- Create and execute innovative design solutions that support clients’ goals.
- Conduct site visits to assess project progress, quality, and adherence to design specifications.
- Develop, review, and modify project documentation, ensuring all are accurate, comprehensive, and compliant with relevant codes and regulations.
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR:
- Demonstrated project management from project initiation through project completion with internal project team, along with client, general contractors, engineers and city/health department officials.
- Preparation of schematic, design development and construction documents through thorough knowledge and skills in Revit.
- Strong understanding of building, health and ADA codes and the ability to determine compliance while aligning with design intent.
- Collaboration with other team members, including, but not limited to Designers, Design Directors, Project Managers and Architects.
- Capacity to thrive independently and in a teamwork setting, able to shift between multiple projects in a fast-paced and deadline-driven environment.
- Excellent communication (verbal, visual and written) and listening skills.
- Demonstrated attention to detail, organization and follow-through skills.
- 8+ years of Project Management and/or Project Architect experience.
