North Loop’s first urban winery is coming to town with a grand opening this weekend, and the city is hyped. From Aaron and Ashley Schram of Schram Vineyard & Brewery in Waconia, AxeBridge brings winemaking to Minneapolis, emphasizing local grape growers in a Shea-designed, industrial-inspired space that’s warm, with barrel-lined walls, seating nooks, and a Champagne room with a story.
The space is already making a splash, with an underground, hidden feel that’s cozy, and a stunner of a patio beckoning guests to sip glasses pulled from the wine taps behind the expansive bar. And guests can take the experience home with a bottle from the merchandise section near the entrance, boasting a sleek label with AxeBridge’s Shea-designed logo.
