Mpls.St.Paul Magazine calls Aki’s BreadHaus and WunderBar “the biggest event in Minnesota German culinary culture in ages.” The publication shares Owner Aki Berndt’s story and praises Aki’s for their menu of soft pretzels, specialty breads, sandwiches and soup, as well as a selection of wine and beer.
Aki’s Breadhaus recently moved into a new location on Marshall in Northeast, four times larger than the original, and opened the Wunderbar to serve drinks and ready-to-eat foods in addition to Aki’s bakery counter. We’re proud to have partnered with Aki and team on the design of the new space, incorporating nods to Aki’s German roots and highlighting furniture and displays handcrafted by Aki himself.
