Fighting Chance is a one-stop for hungry, active youth

Since opening  just a few months ago, Fighting Chance boxing gym in North Minneapolis has become a haven for neighborhood kids. The Shea-renovated space not only features a boxing ring but also a tutoring room for kids to study, yoga studio, and offices—plus a dining room and full kitchen, completely gutted and redone from its time as a firehouse kitchen. After free boxing sessions, hungry kids are invited to stay for dinner and cleanup, a great chance for them to learn about nutrition.

The Star Tribune recently covered the new programs at Fighting Chance and founder Ryan Burnet’s plans for the future—learn more here.
