Coming to the table: David Shea dishes on communal dining in the Twin Cities

Communal tables are hot in restaurants, encouraging the coming together of strangers to socialize and share in food and drink. In a recent Star Tribune piece, David Shea discusses communal-table and kitchen-counter culture, and the reluctance to accept the trend in the Midwest (always on the cutting edge, Shea installed a communal table at an Edina restaurant in the mid-90s).
